“Little things can make a big difference.”

That is exactly what Becca’s Closet it all about – making a difference in someone’s life with a simple gesture. It’s may look like just a dress, but it’s so much more.

Becca was 16 years old when she passed away in a tragic automobile accident on August 20, 2003. Passionate, bright, fun-loving, and kind-hearted, Becca’s memory lives on through a dress drive she created during her freshman year of high school. Becca’s dress drive provided prom dresses and accessories to high school girls who could not afford to purchase them. The following year, Becca single-handedly collected and donated over 250 formal dresses and helped hundreds of girls across South Florida attend their high school proms in style.

To keep Becca’s dream alive, people around the world have joined to provide opportunities for those who seek them. Although the initial goal of Becca’s Closet was to collect and distribute dresses to high school girls with financial need, the goals have expanded to offer additional opportunities for deserving young people. In the spirit of Rebecca’s visions and aspirations, the foundation raises funds to award post-secondary educational scholarships, recognizing the exemplary efforts of young men and women nationwide who demonstrate Becca’s spirit of generosity in their own communities.

Now that prom season is coming to a close, don’t shove those dresses to the back of your closet – pass them on! Prom season never ends at Becca’s Closet. Visit their website and fill out the form to donate your old prom dress and help someone have the prom of her dreams!
