It’s almost here! Before we know it we’ll be celebrating the last day of school. Summer may be wonderful but as a parent it can feel pretty long without some planned activities. Here are a few other local camps perfect for campers of all ages and interests.

S.T.A.R.S. Summer Camp
@ The Shawnee Playhouse

For young performers and children interested in imagination and role-playing.
The Shawnee Theatrical Arts Resource School (S.T.A.R.S.) offers a channel for a child’s natural gifts of imagination and role-playing. Through theatre arts, children sharpen their creativity, improve their communication skills, gain self-confidence and learn the importance of teamwork. Above all, children enjoy becoming a part of the magic that they create on the stage.

This program offers children an introduction to many aspects of theatre through stage movement, dance, music, art, creative games, role-play and scene study. Camp size is limited, so please register as soon as possible.

S.T.A.R.S summer camps reflect the shows produced during the summer season. Young performers will learn about acting, theatre etiquette, terminology, costuming and makeup. The campers will then join the staged production and be in a performance that coincides with the camp that they are in.

Pocono Springs Camp

A five-week camp for children of all ages and interests.
Families want to provide their children with a full-season summer camp experience, and, more than ever, they also need time and flexibility for family activities, specialty camps, and other summer fun outside of camp.  Pocono Springs is a family of its own and recognizes the importance of family and leisure time over the summer. The 5-week session allows for exactly that! Pocono Springs Camp holds the distinction of America’s only traditional 5-week summer camp, and in five weeks, campers get the best that camp has to offer. Campers can explore many new activities while having the time to invest in developing new skills or improving upon old ones. Five weeks also allows time for large camp events such as Tribals, their version of Color War, sporting events, and theater shows. Most importantly, five weeks at Pocono Springs provides the ideal amount of time to experience personal success, build confidence and independence, and create lifelong friendships and lasting memories!
