It wasn’t until the end of this year that I stopped to think about what I have been doing for the last decade of my life. Babies. That’s what I’ve been doing. THE WHOLE TIME! I’m still in shock. In 2010 my husband and I welcomed our first child followed by three more. No wonder I don’t know what year is it or what I’ve been doing with all my time. Babies. Now, my youngest is almost school age, l realize that phase of my life will soon be over. I can finally get my head above water long enough to see how amazing, miraculous, crazy and precious this last decade has been.

If only I can remember that and appreciate how fleeting these moments are when I’m trapped indoors with this pack of wild animals I created. Oh Spring, please hurry.

Amazing? Precious? Not exactly words I would describe this time of year. Cabin fever is setting in, kids get restless, parents get anxious and together we sit confined in our homes, silently praying that we’ll wake up to 60 degree weather. As one of these anxious parents, I’m not going to try and give you any cute anecdotes. This time of year is hard. Do whatever you have to do to make it through!

This issue of MeSee has some suggestions for you and things to explore. From local favorites to new spots for you to check out, there’s plenty of ideas to keep busy. If Mother Nature decides to show us what winter is all about then there are also some crafts and recipes to help you get through.
