As I write this, I’m staring out my front door into a snowy abyss. My kitchen table is covered in board games, Lego pieces, and food crumbs. After 5 snow days in a row, I’ll snap if I hear the words “I’M BORED” one more time. The last few days of blizzards, power outages, and limited travel have really put our patience to the test. Scrolling through social media and listening to my fellow parents’ stories of survival have kept me entertained and reminded me that we’re all in this together. Parenting is HARD and there is no truer test than being locked in your house with any amount of kids without heat, power, cable, or Internet. But we made it! Now, as you read this, I hope you’re enjoying warmer temperatures and relishing in the fact that spring is here!
In this issue of MeSee, we’re getting to know parents and preparing for the summer months ahead. I had the chance to learn about ESU for Kids, which is an awesome summer program, and I have Spruce Lake’s Open House marked on my calendar. The issue contains spring recipes and crafts, a playground roundup, and other great local items.
You won’t want to miss the Greater Pocono Kids Expo being held at Camelback Resort on April 28th. This is a perfect opportunity to learn more about all the local businesses in our area that support parents and kids. You can find extra curricular activities, like dance studios and karate instruction. Learn about the camps and summer programs in our area. Check out party venues and rentals, plus healthcare options and safety features. We hope to see you there!
